I Only Sing In My Mind

Her Daylight Colours Differ

I only sing in my mind…

For the deaf and the dumb,

And those overcome,

With a sense that all

Is undone.

I can only sing in the dark…

In the hope that one single spark,

Provides an ignition,

A burning bright mission,

With one;

That is undone.

She can only sing in the daylight…

As her colours are all seeming too bright?

By night she falls by the wayside,

A bruise tells more stories when inside:

Like a bird,

Her wings hide the undone.

I only peck at the side,

Without pride,

As if to deride.

I spread words

To justify,

My love dusted lies…

While her wings,

Hide her song,

At a graveside.
